Last weekend was prom and I got to go, even though I am a lowly sophomore. You see, the orchestra contains a large amount of pretty awesome seniors and I went with their group. I did end up asking a junior friend of mine and she said yes. This caused quite a bit of controversy for reasons that would best be left off of the internets. Our large picture taking group divided into the (mainly) senior group, and the junior and me group. We went to an awesome hot dog restaurant called Yesterdog's. We were the best dressed there. After eating dinner, we headed back to the large group for desert, then headed out.
The facility looked like a warehouse, but they had punch and a disco ball so I was appeased. The actual dancing part was fun although the music that was chosen was mainly rap and not really meant to dance to. If you aren't familiar with modern day dances, the "mature" dancing goes on in a large circle near the DJ. If you stay outside the circle, this is best because you can have fun while not disturbing those who are "in the zone" in the circle. Sometimes if you look like you're having fun then the Circlians glare at you as if they are there for serious dancing.
Overall it was fun. I got to wear a top hat and tux. I also have two more to improve with in upcoming years.
