Brief Update

I'm typing this from a the Lakewood Memorial Library in Lakewood, New York (near Jamestown).  Finally I have access to the internets after a couple days of information isolation.  I enjoyed being with my dad's family in Hopewell, Virginia a lot, but I was going through some serious withdrawel (sad but true).

The ride to Hopewell from Caledonia (home) was rough.  Wednesday and Thursday were filled with white-out rain conditions.  On Wednesday night, we had to stop in Ohio to sleep because of the weather.  The next day wasn't much better, yet we perservered.  After a couple of days in Virginia we drove to D.C. yesterday.  Bedecked in green, I was hoping to see the Iran protesting, get some footage, and maybe participate.  The only protester there was a octagenarian hippy who was singing a version of "His Eye is on the Sparrow" without any reference to God and holding a sign that said something about the Iraq war being illegal.  So disappointing. (I'm sorry for any spelling errors, the Internet Explorer here doesn't have spell check.)

We walked around D.C. for an hour and then continued driving, had a Father's Day dinner at a Max & Erma's in Penn. and arrived in Lakewood at about ten.
